Unshielded Twisted Pair wiring is a form of electronic cabling composed of one or more pairs of copper wires. Each pair of wires is twisted around one another in order to reduce noise picked up from external sources. As the name implies, these cables have no additional shielding incorporated into them.

UTP cabling is commonly used for tasks such as telephone cables or Ethernet networking. It is relatively innexpensive, readilly available and easy to assemble in the field.
